Business Need
Fimic machines are widely used in the recycling industry for the pelletising of waste plastic. These systems rely on interchangeable parts that can become clogged over time with purge and waste material. A key component is the Fimic screen – a large filter with fine holes (typically under 300 microns) – which works in tandem with a rotating scraper arm that continuously clears the surface of the screen to keep the system running smoothly.
In this case, a customer came to us with a scraper arm that was completely seized. Contamination had built up so severely that the entire arm was encased in a solid block of hardened plastic, halting its function and threatening the performance of the entire machine.
Our Role
Our job was to safely and thoroughly remove the contamination, releasing the scraper arm from the block of plastic without causing any damage to the part itself.
Why choose Sonic Solutions? It comes down to three things: we save you money, time, and hassle. Rather than replacing the component at great cost, our cleaning process brought it back to full working condition quickly and affordably.
The Outcome
We successfully removed all plastic contamination, restoring the scraper arm to a “like new” condition and getting it back into service, without the need for costly replacements or extended downtime.
