Over the past few months, we’ve noticed a new trend emerging in plastics recycling: the rise of what we’ve started calling “micro recyclers.” These are small, two-person operations building local recycling solutions with lean setups, low overheads, and a huge amount of passion.
We’ve now worked with three of these micro recyclers, supporting them by cleaning and maintaining their processing equipment as they grow. It’s been exciting to see first-hand how much impact these small teams are already making.
Business Need
Many small recycling start-ups face a major challenge early on: keeping equipment running efficiently without the budget or scale of larger operations. Contaminated, clogged, or poorly performing parts can quickly slow production and limit growth.
Micro recyclers, in particular, need reliable support partners who understand their constraints and can offer practical, flexible solutions that help them stay operational without disrupting their momentum.
Our Role
We’ve worked closely with several micro recyclers to clean and restore critical plastic processing components, helping their equipment perform as intended. By offering professional cleaning services tailored to smaller operations, we’ve been able to support teams who are building local recycling infrastructure from the ground up.
Beyond the technical work, we’ve taken the time to understand their processes, challenges, and ambitions, allowing us to act as a practical partner rather than just a service provider.
The Outcome
By keeping their equipment clean and operational, these micro recyclers have been able to maintain consistent output, reduce downtime, and focus on growing their businesses.
More importantly, this collaboration supports a wider shift towards decentralised, community-scale recycling. These small, agile operations are tackling niche waste streams and local challenges that often fall outside the reach of large facilities. Being part of this movement reinforces our commitment to innovation at every scale, not just the biggest players.
